1. In short
- The site sets no cookies of any kind.

2. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep and to send back with later requests. Cookies are often used to recognise returning visitors, measure traffic or follow people across websites for advertising.
Local storage is a similar feature of your browser that lets a website keep a small amount of information on your device. Unlike a cookie, it is never sent to the website’s server automatically: it stays in your browser unless the page’s own code reads it. The rules on cookies apply to local storage in the same way, because both store information on your device.

4. What this site does not use
- No cookies, including no session cookies.
- No analytics or statistics tools, whether our own or a third party’s.
- No advertising, remarketing or conversion tracking.
- No embedded videos, maps or social media buttons that load content from other companies.
- No fonts, scripts or images loaded from other servers.
The site’s security settings actively block requests to other servers, so these could not be added by accident.
5. Why there is no cookie banner
The rules on storing information on your device come from the EU ePrivacy Directive (Article 5(3)), which applies in Norway through the Norwegian electronic communications legislation. They require your consent before anything is stored, unless the storage is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly asked for.
Remembering the state of a menu that you opened yourself, kept only on your own device, falls within that exception. Since the site stores nothing else, there is nothing to ask your consent for, and so there is no banner. If we ever add something that does need consent, we will ask before it is stored and update this policy first.
6. Removing it
You can delete the stored item at any time by clearing the site data for ilmiomacrame.com in your browser settings, usually under privacy or site settings. In a private or incognito window, it is deleted automatically when you close the window. The website works in exactly the same way without it: the footer simply starts with all sections closed on a phone.
7. Server logs
Server logs are not cookies, but for completeness: the web server that delivers the site records basic technical information about each request, such as the IP address and the page requested. These logs are kept on the server, not on your device. The Privacy Policy explains what is recorded, why and for how long.
8. Links to other websites
Some pages link to other websites, such as Hjelpelinjen, Datatilsynet and the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. If you follow those links, the other website’s own cookie and privacy policies apply.
