1. Who we are
The Tauvik project and this website are owned by Roman Karas, 3 Ochakivskyi Lane, Kyiv 02000, Ukraine (“we”, “us”). You can reach us about these terms at [email protected].
2. A project in development
Tauvik Sunnmøre Resort & Casino is a planned resort. It has not been built and it is not open. Everything described on this website, from the rooms and the restaurant to the spa, the knot room and the gaming lounge, is a plan. The opening date is to be announced and is not guaranteed: it depends on planning, permits, financing and construction, any of which may cause delays or changes, or may stop the project altogether.
3. The interest list is not a booking
Joining the interest list is free and creates no obligation for you or for us. In particular:
- it is not a reservation and does not hold a room, a date or a place at an event;
- it is not a contract for accommodation, food, events or any other service;
- it gives no priority or preferential terms unless we later offer them to you in writing;
- we may close or reorganise the list at any time.
You can leave the list whenever you like by writing to [email protected]. How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
4. Artist’s impressions and planned figures
All images on this website are artist’s impressions. Layouts, areas, room capacities, finishes, materials, menus and facilities are shown and described as currently planned, and they may change during design and construction, or be dropped. Nothing on the website or in our emails is an offer capable of acceptance, and none of it forms part of any future agreement unless that agreement says so expressly.
5. The knot room: nothing is sold and nothing is taught
The knot room is planned as a working studio where nets, rope and knotted panels are made for the resort itself. To be clear:
- the website does not sell any products, materials or kits, and items made in the knot room are not offered to guests or to the public;
- the website does not publish knotting diagrams, instructions or courses, and we will not supply them on request;
- once the resort is open, taking part in work in the knot room will be voluntary and will always take place under the supervision of staff. Places, group sizes and minimum ages may be limited for safety, and guests will be asked to follow staff instructions.
6. Weather, sea and crossings
The resort is planned on an island off an exposed coast, where storms are common. We cannot guarantee weather or sea conditions. Ferry and boat crossings may be delayed or cancelled, sometimes at short notice. Sea bathing, ceremonies on the rocks, receptions on the quay, boat use and other outdoor activities will always depend on the weather and on safety assessments made on the day.
7. The gaming lounge
The entertainment and gaming lounge is subject to licensing. Land-based casinos are not currently licensed in Norway, so the gaming area will only open if the law allows it and a permit is granted, and it may never open. If it does open, it will be for adults aged 18 and over only, with photo identification checked at the entrance and a dress code in the evening. This website offers no gambling of any kind. Free and confidential help with gambling problems is available from Hjelpelinjen on 800 800 40.
8. Age
The interest list is open only to people aged 18 and over.
9. Our responsibility
Because the resort is a plan, please do not make travel arrangements or other commitments in the expectation that it will open on a particular date or with particular facilities. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that result from relying on planned information.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, or any right you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you habitually live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
If you have a complaint, please write to [email protected] first; we will try to resolve it with you directly.
The European Commission’s online dispute resolution (ODR) platform closed on 20 July 2025 and can no longer be used. Consumers in Norway can contact the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet) for guidance, and consumers elsewhere in the EEA can contact their national consumer authority or an approved alternative dispute resolution body. We are not obliged to take part in alternative dispute resolution, but we will consider it in good faith.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the project develops. The date at the top always shows the current version. Changes do not affect anything that happened before they took effect.
